We recently helped the Myring Family sell their townhome within the Main Street neighbourhood and purchase a detached home in East Vancouver’s Cedar Cottage.
Meeting the Myrings’ – A Story About Good Karma
In 2012, we’ve represented an investor on a purchase of a condo in Kitsilano. As faith has it, the tenant in the suite was a family member of the Myrings. We’ve always maintained a positive relationship with the tenant and helped whenever we could. Almost a decade later, the Myring family remembered the pleasant interactions and contacted us to discuss their plan to upgrade. They’ve mentioned the positive comments they’ve received on how we conducted business in the past & the strong reference from the family. As East Vancouver is our native real estate market, we were honoured & excited to be the chosen REALTORS® to be a part of their journey.
The Sale
It was a tough decision from the get-go, they were living in a spacious, garden-level corner suite at the James Walk building on Main & 35th Ave – one of the most desirable locations in Vancouver. Located within walking distance to Queen Elizabeth Park, Hillcrest community center, and South Main shops it is a perfect neighbourhood for a growing family. The timing couldn’t be better, East Vancouver market was on an upper trend since the end of 2020, the market great for sellers and the expectations were a record-breaking sale price. We chose to focus our marketing on the quality of the building, layout, design, and upgrages, but also emphasizing the amazing amenities within walking distance of the development. Our target demographics of potential buyers were young families who are looking for bigger space and a more affordable price than a detached home. We listed their home and sold it within the first week for a premium, record-breaking price in East Vancouver.
The Purchase
The Family, after experiencing some disappointment in losing at Multiple offers, won, in a tough East Vancovuer bidding war, a bid to purchase an amazing Vancouver Special in the Cedar Cottage community, close to King Edward Village neighbourhood. The house is situated on a larger lot, with great views of the city & mountains, & walking distance to King Edward Village shops, Trout Lake, Commercial Drive, parks, shops, & Cafes. Our clients are excited for their next chapter in their ‘forever’ home in East Vancouver. Some renovations will follow in the coming months, we’re confident when everything is done, they’ll have an amazing home in the heart of East Vancouver!
